How Does document shredding work
The General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union and the European Economic Area. It also addresses the export of personal data outside the EU and EEA areas
- Order shredding bags online, we post them to you
- Fill the bags with up to 20kg
- Secure the bag with the security seal provided
- Confidential destruction to BSEN15713:2009
If you have more than 5 bags, we’ll collect it for you free-of-charge. With less than 5 bags, simply drop them off at your nearest branch.
Once your documents are shredded you can print a certificate of destruction. All the shredded waste is recycled. Privacy and peace of mind for you – and it’s better for the environment

Shredding Consoles & Collection
If you generate regular amounts of confidential waste our shredding collection service, with free Shredding Consoles, will be the best solution for you.
- We supply you with free stylish lockable shredding consoles (worth £60)
- We agree a suitable collection schedule – weekly, fortnightly or monthly
- We remove your documents for destruction and recycling
- Destruction to BSEN15713:2009
- We issue your destruction certificate(s)
We usually deliver consoles within seven days of receiving your order. We charge four weeks in advance. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call your nearest branch listed above.
Britannia Lanes Shredding offers confidential document destruction services to business and homes.
For businesses with a regular amount of shredding, we supply consoles for you to fill. We collect these on a schedule to suit you.
For homes and small businesses with less to shred we supply bags for you to fill and return.
