Our history

Lanes Storage and Removals Ltd began its journey in 1974 originally offering just storage in a warehouse in Launceston, Cornwall. Soon after this the addition of our first removal vehicle changed the direction of the company’s future and would mark the beginning of the service we are best known for, removals. The business quickly grew which led to the relocation of the depot to Truro, the same site we remain on today.

In 1990 the family were approached by the national group of family led removal companies – Britannia Movers. Becoming part of this co-operative gained us access to an in-house shipping division, larger scale corporate customers and most importantly the value of a like minded network of people across the UK. Joining Britannia signified the company trading as and becoming known best known as Britannia Lanes.

Recent years have seen us focusing on expanding our Self Storage facilities across the South West with the addition of sites in Falmouth, Hayle and St Austell with future plans for sites into Devon.
